Today kids and teens are not told about their identity that they were made in the image of God, nor are they told about their value as a human created by God. So they have an identity crisis and are looking to find themselves, but outside of God, they never will.
It is also about not understanding absolute truth. And, This lack of understanding our identity being made by God for a relationship with God [by having life in Christ; being redeemed from sin]...it is an attack on God. Not understanding this or even being told about it.... really leads to all kinds of confusion and constantly "seeking" to find themselves & their identity (in anything but God), which results in disasterous ways and ends, even suicide. So, we need to speak truth and guide them to contentment in who they are (human made in God's image), and as God created them to be (living for the purpose they were created for, according to Scripture). Not in what they think they are or run around trying to be. Peace and contentment only come from understanding who we really are and what we are to live as. ((As fallen people, our identity is only reclaimed through Jesus [through the transforming spiritual rebirth process of] being born again by God...not by changing a gender (or wanting to be a cat)). We need a sin change. Exchanging whats broken and wrong, to be restored and put right.
In the past sinners just numbed life thru alcohol and drugs, and maybe sex before marraige, then it changed in recent years to be about sexual lifestyles and now it moved to changing genders or species. Man's constant attempts to "fill the void in their life", and "make sense" of why they exist, is found in nothing but what it was designed for, and until people are told, and grasp this, they just fill it with sin, (which also leads to anxiety, depression, and early death).
People try drugs, alcohol, sex, fantasy, otherkin/furry, Lgbt+ lifestyles, etc. to try to figure out who they are. It leads to no answer.
Without God, life has no ultimate—no objective—meaning. If we wrongly think there is no God, every one of us is as insignificant as a grain of sand. And these lifestyles are a result of kids and teens being lied to/ told they came from goo and have no value or purpose in life since. So it is no wonder these issues are typical with MZ-A Generation. They grew up with no actual influence of Christianity (from grandparents to parents, and since schools threw God away in the late 50s) and so today....no one is telling them about their value and who we are as humans, and why we exist.
You do not need to go try to find or define yourself, because God already designed and defined you. You are a human, made in the image of God and created to have a right fellowship with Him, and live rightly. Life makes sense once we turn to Jesus, and when God gives us a rebirth, we become a new creation.

Note that idea that a child could be born in the wrong body is absurd because God created everyone. He is Soverign, the smartest in existence as our Creator. He knew exactly what He was doing when He created you and me, all of us, across the existence of humanity (past, present, future), he even coded it in our dna. And has a purpose for us overall and individually. We simply need to live it out. And the truth is that it is not in changing our sex/gender- it is in our being an image bearer of God and living how He designed us from before the world began (and while in the womb).

Our purpose and fulfillment, contentment in life is not about the temoporary, physical things, like sex, drugs, cars, jewelry, money... it is only in contenment in Christ. We are only complete through Christ. Our existence, purpose and future is Spiritual; by, in, through and for God. It is Spiritual Not physical. Our soul is a spirit. The body just houses us for a short time. Eternity is never ending, life on earth is a short vapor. Eternity is a place where sex does not exist (both the act of it and a gender). We need to come to our senses, reboot, and be made new again. The only way is through Jesus.
